Top 6 Surprises From Week 11

I compiled a top-6 list of the most surprising fantasy finishes that were successful but may not continue down that path. The list should be used as a guideline for the waiver wire.

For the following, the quarterbacks I list should not continue to fall within the top 12; running backs and wide receivers are flex options or below. For the week, all players are within the top 24 (QBs are within the top 12).

Without further ado, here are my guys for Week 11.

Quarterbacks

Tommy DeVito– DeVito brought the Giants to victory by throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns on 18 of 26 passes. He also ran for seven yards. It was the first win of DeVito’s season in his fourth appearance. His biggest score came when he hit Darius Slayton on a 40-yard attempt. He also hit Saquon Barkley in the fourth quarter. DeVito now has more multiple-touchdown games than Kenny Pickett.

Others to Consider: Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love

Running backs

Ty Johnson– Johnson capitalized on having his highest snap share of the season (14). He rushed three times for 11 yards and caught three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. His TD came from 28 yards out in the third quarter. It is unclear how much playing time he will continue to get under new offensive coordinator Joe Brady. He would also need to keep scoring because he remains the third running back behind James Cookand Latavius Murray.

Samaje Perine– Perine only had one rushing attempt and gained seven yards, but he was heavily used in the passing game. He caught all seven of his targets for 60 yards in the victory over Minnesota. More than half of his production came on the game-winning drive for Denver. His four consecutive receptions spurred on the momentum for the Broncos by getting them near the goal line. Even though he didn’t score, he was a primary beneficiary of the offense. Javonte Williams will get the bulk of the carries, and Perine is primarily a receiving back.

Others to Consider: Zach Charbonnet, Ty Chandler

Wide Receivers

Darius Slayton– Slayton finally made it into the top 24 this season by scoring 18.2 points. It was one of his best games in the last three seasons. He did so by catching four passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. Slayton was injured during the contest, shorting his explosive day right before the half. The injury was to his neck. However, with Tommy DeVito, another repeat performance will be challenging.

Justin Watson– Watson finally entered double-digit points (16.3) by pulling down five of his 11 targets for 53 yards and athree-yard touchdown in the loss to Philadelphia. Watson led the Chiefs in both yards and targets. He also established a career-high in receptions (19), yards (329), and targets (36).Unfortunately, Patrick Mahomes doesn’t have a favorite target outside of Travis Kelce, and Watson has been inconsistent all season, not scoring more than 9.2 points this season.

Others to Consider: Greg Dortch, Jayden Reed
