NFL Divisional Round Injury Round Up

Gabe Davis

Gabe Davis suffered a left PCL sprain in the Bills’ win over the Dolphins that locked up the AFC East division title for the Bills. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the injury is not considered major. However, even with a mild injury, this could go on for a couple of weeks. Davis missed the Bills’ Wild Card win versus the Steelers and has been ruled out for the divisional matchup versus the Chiefs. If the Bills were to advance, Davis would have a chance to return to action.

Mark Andrews

Mark Andrews, despite his best efforts, has been ruled out for Saturday’s divisional round matchup versus the Texans. Earlier in the week, coach Harbaugh classified Andrews as a “50-50” chance at playing. Now that he has been ruled out, it seems like a safe bet that Andrews would be able to return to action in the AFC Championship Game, assuming the Ravens can beat the Texans. Even with Andrews missing the last chunk of the regular season, he still led the Ravens in receiving touchdowns, and remains an integral part of their offense. Expect heavy volume for Isiah Likely once again.

Sam LaPorta

Sam LaPorta was able to battle through a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise and play in the Lions’ Wild Card win versus the Rams. Unsurprisingly, LaPorta was seen wearing a heavy duty brace, in order to provide added protection and stability. Although clearly less than 100% healthy, LaPorta was still able to find the end zone, and finished with 3 catches for 14 yards and the score.

AJ Dillon

Out since week 17 with thumb and neck injuries, AJ Dillon is officially questionable for the divisional round matchup versus the 49ers. Dillon was a DNP during the entire week, which doesn’t bode well for his playing prospects this weekend. Even if he is active, expect a heavy dose of Aaron Jones, who had a massive game versus the Cowboys and seems to be fully healthy.

Kadarius Toney

Kadarius Toney is officially questionable for the Chiefs divisional round matchup versus the Bills with ankle and hip injuries. Toney missed the Chiefs’ win last week versus the Dolphins and was limited in practice all week. Even if he is active, who really knows how much playing time he will receive.

Stefon Diggs

This one is somewhat surprising. Coach Sean McDermott stated that Diggs sustained a foot injury in the Bills win over the Steelers. Due to this, Diggs was a DNP on Thursday. Even so, Diggs was able to corral 7 of 9 targets for 52 yards, and was running routes on just about all of the Bills passing plays. We are continuing to monitor this one, however Diggs does not appear to be in any danger of missing this contest.

Chris Godwin

Chris Godwin has been battling a knee injury for most of the season, and his practice status reflects that. Although he was limited in Thursday’s practice, expect Godwin to play versus the Lions.

Zay Flowers

Zay Flowers was removed from the injury report and is good to go versus the Texans. He was limited earlier in the week with his calf strain.

Christian Watson

Christian Watson returned to the field on Super Wild Card weekend, although he only played 12 snaps. He will likely be more active this weekend versus the 49ers, and was removed from the injury report, indicating that he will be good to go.
