The Fantasy Doctors Redraft League (Wide Receivers)

Receivers that get plenty of catches are obviously the gold standard in the a full ppr format, which this league is. At the 1(5) pick, I felt like my hand was forced to select Ja’Marr Chase, and I was not complaining at all. He did nothing but ball out in the 2021 season. Cooper Kupp exceeded Chase’s output last year, which is who was selected after I got Chase. I mainly liked Chase’s chemistry with Burrows (also his college quarterback) and feel that they should keep progressing together. Rams are possibly due to regress after winning a Super Bowl, but Kupp should still be a top guy. Going receiver round 1 changed my draft plans a little because I was expecting to go running back. I addressed running back, tight end, and quarterback until round 7. I was able to get Rashod Bateman in round 7 which is a great value for his ceiling. We haven’t seen the best of him yet since he has yet to be the #1 receiver. Bateman teamed with Chase could pay dividends if both guys can play to their potential. Most of these drafts are deep at the wide receiver position. That benefits owners by allowing them to wait to select receivers so you can maximize value at other positions. This is one of the situations where I feel that it paid off for me. The only negative on my top 2 wide receivers is they have the same bye week, but not a big a deal to me. With a little bit of trade magic, I was able to move and select earlier in round 10. At 10 (2) is where I wanted to pick because I wanted a share of Jarvis Landry. He is now in New Orleans with no Baker Mayfield in site. He may not be the number 1 guy, but can still capitalize on plenty of targets. Michael Thomas appears to be healthy with Chris Olave picking up the offense well as a rookie in training camp. With other guys doing well, it will make it harder for defenses to choose who to concentrate on. In these later rounds the depth of receiver was plentiful as I expected, and I kind of put myself in position to go on a receiver run with my top guys having the same bye week, as I mentioned before. At 11(5) I was able to bag DJ Chark. He is someone I think people are sleeping on due to not producing like he did a few years ago. Last year was a loss because of an ankle injury. He had 7 catches with 2 touchdowns in 2 games before getting hurt. The Lions are a premier team due to the fact they have to throw themselves back into games if they fall behind. Very similar to DJ Chark is Corey Davis. Injury last year halted his production along with rookie a quarterback that was trying to settle in. Zach Wilson did attempt to get him the ball quite a bit before his injury though. Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson could be problem for the target share, but I think in a redraft format, its usually good to trust your vet players. Overall, I love the receivers I obtained. I also feel the backups have quality sleeper appeal for trade purposes. I don’t feel at a loss when I have to sit my top receivers for their bye weeks. With training camp going on I could be making team changes here and there.
