(We at The Fantasy Doctors apologize for the “joke” in the title.)
Surprise superstar quarterback Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons saw two of his main weapons go down in last week’s game. All-Universe wide receiver Julio Jones and just plain ol’ wide receiver Mohamed Sanu suffered injuries in Week 13 and had to leave the game. Neither has practiced yet this week.
Jones is dealing with turf toe, but the Falcons are optimistic that he will play this Sunday against the Rams in Los Angeles. He may have his practice reps limited throughout the week and may even sit out until Friday, but he should be good to go and safe to trot out as a WR1.
Sanu has a groin injury and is not expected to play in Los Angeles. He almost certainly won’t practice, and is likely to get an “Out” tag sooner than later. In his place, Taylor Gabriel and Justin Hardy will likely pick up Julio Jones’ scraps. Neither is a solid fantasy option, although Gabriel offers big play upside similar to Tyler Lockett of the Seahawks and Tyreek Hill of the Chiefs.
