Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Taijuan Walker was placed on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to May 20 with a blister on his right index finger.
The blister should take seven to ten days to subside but will be evaluated daily prior to Walker’s expected return date. Thus, do not expect Walker to miss more than two starts.
Despite the blister, Walker was able to complete his last outing, throwing six innings of two-hit ball as his Diamondbacks cruised to a 10-1 victory against the San Diego Padres Friday. On the season, Walker boasts a 4-3 win-loss record with a 3.46 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 52.0 innings.
