Baltimore Orioles infielder Ryan Flaherty was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis retroactive to May 19th.
Flaherty’s injury requires rest, rehabilitation and anti-inflammatories to get back to full health. The 30-year old may also receive a steroid injection to the joint and can be expected to return in two to four weeks.
The Orioles called up Paul Janish to take Flaherty’s spot as a backup utility infielder. Prior to the injury, Flaherty was batting .233 with three RBIs in 34 plate appearancees.
