Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Ryan Dull was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right knee strain after finishing out an appearance Friday night in the Athletics’ 3-2 victory against the Boston Red Sox in 10 innings.
Dull’s MRI on his right knee was negative, which is good news. However, strained knees can get inflamed, sometimes requiring steroid injections. Dull should be back in one to two weeks.
Pitching against Mitch Moreland, Dull apparently felt a pop in his right knee and struggled pushing off the rest of the inning. Regardless, though, Dull pitched a scoreless 10th inning, allowing only one hit and registering two strikeouts and ended up getting the win as well.
Dull is 2-2 on the season with a 6.32 ERA in 18 appearances.
