Demaryius Thomas

Injury Info: Denver Broncos top WR Demaryius Thomas was held out of Saturday’s preseason game as well as Monday’s practice with a groin injury. Although this sounds precautionary, groin injuries have a tendency to linger if not allowed to fully heal. Groin injuries often take about 2-4 weeks to fully heal. The good news is that the Broncos have a good 16 days (from Saturday’s preseason game) until they face off against the Chargers on Monday Night Football. A typical grade-one groin strain takes about 2 weeks to recover, if allowed to properly heal combined with appropriate rehab. If you are drafting this week, I do not expect this injury to change his draft position much, but overall I am not personally very high on Thomas, and do not plan on drafting him in any of my leagues, despite being a reliable top WR for several years now. This groin injury will actually further reinforce the fact that I am staying away from him. Right now I am not overly concerned with Thomas’ groin injury, but if isn’t close 100% health by Week 1, then I may become increasingly concerned.

Injury Affects: Emmanuel Sanders, Bennie Fowler, Jordan Taylor, Virgil Green, AJ Derby

Current draft position: PPR: 3rd round, 8th pick, WR16. Standard: 3rd round, 12th pick, WR16

Draft instead: Should not impact draft position
