Cleveland Indians right-hander Danny Salazar was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a sore right shoulder retroactive to June 4th. Salazar pitched the day prior, going one and two-thirds innings in the Indians’ 12-5 against the Kansas City Royals, allowing three hits and one run with two strikeouts.
The Fantasy Doctors’ Dr. Jesse Morse expects Salazar to be out for 2-4 weeks barring any significant setbacks. Salazar may need a steroid injection and a MRI, coupled with a combination of rest and anti-inflammatories to clear up the issue.
After strong 2015 and 2016 performances, Salazar’s 2017 has been one to forget. Thus far, the 27-year old has a 3-5 record and a 5.40 ERA in 55.0 innings pitched, and was recently demoted from the starting rotation
