San Francisco Giants pitcher Jeff Samardzija has been sent to the DL for second time with right shoulder inflammation. He missed a month last time. Could range from rotator cuff, labrum, AC joint, biceps tendon or possibly GIRD. It’s possible a steroid injection could be tried, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried PRP or BMAC. Expect the Giants to shut him down for at least 2-3 weeks. RTP 4-6 weeks.

The good news is that he did not fracture the clavicle, instead damaging the ligaments that attach the clavicle to the sternum. This can be a painful injury with limited treatment options. Rest, rehab, and NSAIDs are main treatment options. RTP 4-6 weeks.
