Washington Nationals relief pitcher Koda Glover was diagnosed with “severe” rotator cuff inflammation that was revealed on an MRI while already on the disabled list for lower back stiffness. Glover suffered the original injury slipping in his shower and has already been out for two weeks.

Glover may need steroid injections and a strengthening program to immrpove the injury. If the rotator cuff does not improve, Glover may need another MRI to recheck if any of the muscles are torn. Expect the closer to be out two to four more weeks with this setback.

Glover currently cannot throw and has already had Tommy John surgery once, in college. This season, the 24-year old has a 5.12 earned run average, eight saves and 17 strikeouts in 19.1 innings pitched.
