Cleveland Cavalier superstar Lebron James missed Saturday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls with strep throat. The Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue made the announcement just prior to the game and his team lost by eighteen points to the Bulls.

According to the Fantasy Doctor’s Dr.Selene Parekh, the four-time MVP will likely be out on a day-to-day basis. Strep usually needs antibiotics, so Lebron staying home during practice was for rest and to allow the medicine to kick in. Parekh believes he can return following a few days of rest.

The Cavaliers have lost each of the four games Lebron James missed this season. This team clearly does not play anywhere close to the level they do with James on the floor. He will join his teammate Kevin Love on the sideline, which puts the team’s roster at a serious disadvantage. Luckily for them, James is suffering from a temporary ailment and there is no need to rush to the waiver wire in 12 team leagues.

Kyrie Irving will benefit the most with the other two members of the team’s ‘Big Three’ on the sidelines. Irving had 34 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the loss against Chicago after it was announced Lebron would miss the game. Irving took 25 field goal attempts and will continue to see his usage rate increase with two of the team’s top three scorers on the sidelines.

If Kyle Korver was not already owned in your league, he will be worth owning when Lebron James is out. Korver hit four three-point shots with two assists in his first game on the Cavaliers without Lebron playing. Korver will become a vital part of the offense with few other offensive weapons in play, especially with Love injured in addition to Lebron.

Deron Williams has told Cleveland that he will sign with them, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN. However, Lebron is more likely to make it on the court before Williams cannot sign until Monday. Williams will be a borderline fantasy asset when the Cavaliers are fully healthy but certainly worth keeping an eye on when the team is not.
