Irv Smith Has Surgery On Thumb Clouding His Availability For Seaon Opener
Vikings TE Irv Smith Jr had surgery to repair a an injury to his thumb. He left practice early on Monday with an undisclosed injury and no information was given about it. Head coach Kevin O’Connell announced that Smith had surgery on his thumb but didn’t release the severity of the injury or what type of procedure was done. Irv will more than likely be ruled out for the remainder of training camp. His status for Week 1 is up in the air right now but he hasn’t been ruled out.
