Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown has been diagnosed with turf toe. Hard injury to play through. Pain & limited ROM = rate limiting factor. Will likely linger for ROS. Surgery is usually indicated until a grade three injury, Which is usually a full tear of the plantar plate. Likely they will start with rest, NSAIDs, taping and a stiff shoulder shoe or walking boot. They may consider placing him in a short leg cast for 2 to 6 weeks. Indications for surgery include failed conservative treatment, fracture or retraction of the sesamoid, or a loose fragment in the joint. If surgery is indicated expect RTP 3 to 4 months.
